March 2016

Company Founded

On a sunny day in Dallas, Texas, longtime colleagues and attorneys Rich and Sam agreed to start HOUNDSBAY, with one goal: to create luxury shoe care products and other quality essentials.
August 2016

First Order

After five months of preparation, our very first sale was a pair of aromatic Cedar Shoe Trees.
March 2017

The Admiral Dresser Valet

Designed and patented by our founders, the Admiral remains one of our most popular holiday gifts.

The Bulldog Shoe Stretcher

Most stretchers on the market were cheaply made, so we redesigned, thickened and strengthened every metal component. The result, the Bulldog, is one of our top-selling shoe care products.

A New Home in Plano, Texas

We moved to a new office in Plano, just outside Dallas, with a photography studio and room to grow.

First Registered Trademark

HOUNDSBAY® was registered in the shoe trees, shoe horns and shoe stretchers category, the first of many trademarks.

First Sales in Europe

Starting with our Cedar Shoe Trees, HOUNDSBAY launched in the UK and Europe, with inventory in Germany and the UK for fast delivery.

The Mariner Watch Box

A carbon fiber interior, extra-wide watch slots and a real glass lid. The Mariner is substantial and beautiful, as a watch box should be.

First Limited Edition Admiral

Our first limited edition, the black top-grain leather Admiral. Only 300 were ever made, and customers called it "the nicest dresser valet box they had ever seen."

First Patent Awarded

The Admiral became our first patented design. HOUNDSBAY patents most of its designs and actively protects them against infringement.

The Block Belt Hanger

Sketched on a hotel napkin by co-founder Rich Reister and covered by two patents, the Block was carved from solid African Mahogany, with a Walnut edition following in 2020.

Our first print campaign featured the Admiral for Father's Day, introducing HOUNDSBAY to a new audience.
