COMPANY FOUNDED - March 28, 2016
On a sunny day in Dallas, Texas, friends Rich and Sam agreed to start an e-commerce business named HOUNDSBAY. Rich and Sam had worked together as attorneys for many years and knew they would make a good team. The goal of the new company would be to create and sell luxury shoe care products and other quality essentials.

After 5 months of work and preparation, HOUNDSBAY's first sale was a pair of wonderfully smelling, aromatic Cedar Shoe Trees.

LAUNCH OF THE "ADMIRAL" DRESSER VALET - March 2017
About a year after founding, the ever-popular Admiral Dresser Valet was first offered for sale. This product was designed and patented by the company founders, and is consistently one HOUNDSBAY's most popular gift items during the holidays.

LAUNCH OF THE BULLDOG SHOE STRETCHER - September 2017
The Bulldog is a classic example of HOUNDSBAY quality and innovation. Seeing that most shoe stretchers on the market were cheaply made, the co-founders took an existing design and vastly improved it. They redesigned, thickened, and strengthened all the metal components. The result became the indestructible "Bulldog" Shoe Stretcher. It is one of HOUNDSBAY's top selling shoe care products.

MOVE TO PLANO, TEXAS - NOVEMBER 2017
After almost 2 years in business, HOUNDSBAY's founders decided to move the company to a new office in Plano, TX (Plano is a suburb of Dallas). The new office had room for a photography studio, extra space to grow, and was closer to the founders' homes.

FIRST REGISTERED TRADEMARK - DECEMBER 2017
The first of many registered trademarks, in late 2017 HOUNDSBAY was awarded registration of the trademark "HOUNDSBAY®" in the Shoe-trees, Shoe horns & Shoe stretchers category.

FIRST SALES IN EUROPE - AUGUST 2018
Using Amazon's distribution network, HOUNDSBAY launched products in the UK and Europe starting with Cedar Shoe Trees. With inventory stored in Germany and the UK, customers all over Europe could now purchase popular HOUNDSBAY products on Amazon's European websites, and enjoy fast delivery times.

LAUNCH OF THE MARINER WATCH BOX - NOVEMBER 2018
Wanting to come out with a unique, high quality watch box, in late 2018 HOUNDSBAY started selling the "Mariner" watch box. Made with a carbon fiber interior, extra-wide watch slots, and a real glass lid, the Mariner was heavy and beautiful--just like a watch box should be. It is one of HOUNDSBAY's top-sellers during the holidays.

FIRST LIMITED EDITION ADMIRAL (BLACK TOP-GRAIN LEATHER) - NOVEMBER 2018
HOUNDSBAY's first ever Limited Edition product, the 2018 Top-Grain leather Admiral was expensive, beautiful, and one-of-a-kind. Only 300 were ever made. Many messages came in from customers expressing that it was the "nicest dresser valet box they had ever seen."

FIRST PATENT AWARDED - DECEMBER 2018
One of HOUNDSBAY's most popular products, the "Admiral" Dresser Valet Box, became patented in late 2018. HOUNDSBAY owns and files patents on most of its designs, and is diligent about enforcing its patents against infringement. Copycats beware!

LAUNCH OF THE BLOCK BELT HANGER - JANUARY 2019
Designed on a napkin in a hotel room by co-founder Rich Reister, and covered by 2 patents, the BLOCK Belt Hanger can only be found at HOUNDSBAY. It is made from a solid block of furniture-grade African Mahogany. It's rich color and unique design has made it one of HOUNDSBAY's most popular gifts geared towards men. In December 2020, the Block became available in a beautiful solid Walnut hardwood.

After 3 years of only advertising in online media, HOUNDSBAY ran its first print ad campaign in American Way Magazine, reaching a brand new segment of customers. It had a picture of the Admiral and targeted Father's Day shoppers.

After seeing the overwhelming success of the Admiral Dresser Valet, the company designed and launched a similar valet box that was geared for watch lovers, the "Commander". It has the same shape as the Admiral, but with watch pillows and a real glass lid to show off the owner's watch collection.

LAUNCH OF THE CAPTAIN DRESSER VALET - JUNE 2020
Wanting to come out with a dresser valet that had a "small footprint" so it could fit on a bookshelf, but still lots of storage space, co-founder Rich Reister designed the Captain. The storage lid doubles as a smartphone charging station. Very popular with HOUNDSBAY fans, there is nothing else like it on the market.
